St. Maarten is one of the island countries in the Caribbean Sea. Once you get there you find no limits of nature except nature’s view as you can see the sky in one part and sea in the other. The island is situated approximately 150 miles away from southeast of Puerto Rico at the northern end of the Lesser Antilles. New York City and Miami are at a distance of approximately three hours from the island. The island is also the constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The island consists of a population of about 33,000 people. The island occupies an area of 34 km2 that includes the southern 40% of the island that is divided into two parts and whose 60% belongs to the French overseas collectivity of St. Maarten. Philipsburg is its capital. The languages used in the country are Dutch and English.
